Summer is neeeeeeeeear!!! although I wish it was nearer. Summer has already come for some; congratulations to those who have finished their exams! For those of you who haven't and those of us who have a long way to go still, I wish you all good luck!!

Facebook Fan Page

So we are planning to launch a Facebook Fan Page along with the new Villa Emba promo. This is so we can communicate with people easier, and involve them in some projects.

The first project will be themed "Not your everyday Superheroes", and is inspired by the Stand-up comedian Stephen Lynch, and specifically the song "Superhero". Tell us what your idea of a superhero is and we'll pick out the most inspiring, funny, absurd and unique to draw them out, creating a list with "not your everyday superheroes".

For my brother and students worldwide

Hey its been a while.. but really, just a week or two... well new drawings are coming up. Alright so we've both been doing some digital drawings the past few days, although yiannis' are top secret and will not be revealed just yet.... The drawing below was how u say... "inspired" by a certain architecture student who often complains or rather admits... his lack of sleep, inability to shave and utter passion for a subject that drives him... but drives him crazy at the same time. This certain someone was talking to me last night and rushed off to do something i dont know what and proooomised he would call me half an hour later but never did... this is for my brother. yeh you!

Second Promo done

Second promo for Villa Emba is finished.. as soon as its put up on youtube ill post it here too.. I think its really good. has this sort of 80s punk feel to it.. maybe its the music. Soooooo Villa Emba Goes London with an american pie theme!

Yianni is doing lots of drawing, halfway through his animatic. Also, he's getting into maya, making strange sounds on his computer and keeps moving around in his seat doing movements as reference to draw his characters... weirdo.

I am packing... going to CY for five days for an interview! hurray... .. .

Finished poster

Finished the poster for Villa Emba.. I'm pretty happy with it.. has a kind of 80s comic look to it. Also used a bit more detail on ../??//Milo?Millis? that dude.. he looks very cool! Now gotta do the video promo for it.. It won't have any animation this time so it won't take much time.. i hope.. got lots of uni work to do..

New Promo

Working on a new poster and promo for Villa Emba.. can't say what it is about yet.. Trying to make their mascot (who really needs a name - i called hime Milli - Niki called him Milo) into a cool pose.  I'm not very happy with how he looks at the moment.. so expect a make-over soon.

Niki here, again. Yianni's got a too much work to blog today, although he might find time to watch the game :| hm. He's storyboarding, i think he's almost done, he's dreading the pitch tomorrow. I'm sure he'll do great. aaaaanw.. I am going to cook and then continue doing my digital drawing. If you check out my page on the right in a few hours you'll see the painting I finished a few days ago. Yianni will also put up his work on the blog so keep checking it out!

Half is Resting, One is still working

Niki here. After a full couple of weeks working on the Villa Emba Crew Promo for New Years Eve we're taking a small break and just relaxing and taking it a bit slower, well, Half is relaxing. One has a pitch for his final year animation project on Monday and so he has a lot of work to do.. Today is Saturday and I'm just drawing doodles on my graphics tablet. More artwork coming up soon!

ManMade- Stop Motion Animation

ManMade is the first short we made together, experimenting with stop-motion. It was made using toothpicks, cut into small pieces and collated together into making the form of a tree. It was inspired by the frequent fires in Cyprus during the summer period.

Bubble burst

Like ants

An early 2009 stopmotion animation of tiny ant people walking through the screen amongst giants.. This clip was done using photography and thoroughly edited in image editing programme. 

Inside a hollow tree

We wrote and illustrated this fairytale book on gender equality for a competition organised by UNESCO.. this was back in 2009 but I think it was the first official collaborative work we did and we loved it!
